How did it begin part 7.1?
Welcome back readers after a bit of break between this part and part 6. This is going to be a huge part that could potentially be split into two separate mini part. We are now diving into the big year of 2022 where a lot of photography happened and probably the best year for my photography. This year we will be diving more into London and improving in cityscapes, going back to the Royal International Air Tattoo for the first time since 2019 and also taking my photography into a new area in the middle of the year but that is all to come.
The New Year had began, not knowing what this year would bring in the sense of my photography. All I know is that I was going to RIAT in July and visiting my dream destination in May (which will not be mentioned in this part as I will make a separate blog post about it). I was very lucky to visit New York and took my first solo trip but that is to come in a separate part.
Not much happened in January as I was mainly in work doing some winter set down which included, taking down Christmas trees, lights, cleaning rides… I remember it was a crisp day and there was a lot of frost on the floor and around the park. It kind of looked like snow. Just to protect myself in this, I won’t be putting any of the work photos on this blog.
Near the end of January I took a very small trip to London, well actually a different place of London which hasn’t been mentioned about in any of the past blogs. Quick story time… sadly my headphones broke and I tried to repair them but sadly one of the little screws completely snapped so I decided to look for a second hand pair of headphones. Facebook market place was where I headed and came across a pair of headphones and it said that it would be pick up only. I thought he’s not that far away as he lived in Fulham (funnily enough my favourite football team). On the 22nd January I took a small trip from Wimbledon Station and caught the District Line to Putney Bridge and walked through the park to go and pick up the headphones at his house. It was a quick round trip around and as I say to my mum, doesn’t matter where I go in London and dosen’t matter how long I spend there I always take my camera with me.
Sitting on the District Line heading towards Putney Bridge, each of the Underground lines all have different textures of the seats. As we will slowly coming out of Covid 19, there was still signs around to say keeping you distance. I remember wearing a face-mask on the Underground but the requirements to wear it on public transport was going to change.
I wanted to capture the surrounding around me which included the seats and the lining on them.
Date-22nd January 2022
Luckily there was no one in-front of me while I was on the way to Putney Bridge. What I like about this photo is the contemporary look of It and having the middle seat as the centre subject in the image while also combining the two windows with the London houses on each side. I knew when saw this photo on the LCD screen I just knew I was going to make this black and white.
Date-22 January 2022
When I got off at Putney Bridge I made my way slowly to the gentleman house to pick up the headphones. I love London street names and how they are presented. I set the shutter speed to be slower so that the background vehicles would have a blurryness of the movement while the sign is in focus. When I came to editing it I took all the colours out except the red that is found on the London street signs.
Date-22 January 2022
I wanted to capture items around the city up close. I wanted to capture things we use as padestrians all the time (well most of us use) and that being the waiting signal box for when the traffic lights turn red.
Date-22 January 2022
Made my way onto the famous Putney Bridge and what I like about how I shot this photo was that I placed the camera down on level of the bridge and caught each side of the bridge. One side is capturing the busy roads of London and the other is the calming of the river thames.
Date-22 January 2022
Another angle of Putney Bridge this time getting lower of the bridge and capturing the length of it. The stonework and archways of the bridge are just beautiful not to capture.
Date-22 January 2022
Making my way into the park and I wanted to capture the railings along the pathway that divide the pathway and the river. I think I was shooting at the aperture of ƒ4.0 to give it a more blurry background while focusing on the railings in-front of me.
Date-22 January 2022
Looking back while walking through the park caught this photo of Putney Bridge and a block of apartments (which I will always remember) in the background. I wanted to capture this in a landscape shot to capture more in the photo.
Date-22 January 2022
Fulham Football Club is the home of my favourite football team ever since I was a child. As an adult I haven’t been to many of there games but I did go when I was younger. What I like about this photo is that I dropped most colours but kept the colour of the brickwork, and then made it black and white to match the football kit of the team.
Date-22 January 2022
Fulham is the only stadium in the United Kingdom that has a grade listed cottage (which I have been very lucky to sat in) and capturing the name of one of the entrance with the cottage in the background makes it a good subject for the photo.
Date-22 January 2022
It was nice walking around the roads around the stadium because it was very quiet, this was one of my favourite photos of the year because I love the feel of this photo because capturing the entrance way to the stadium and also capturing the cottage as the centre piece.
Date-22 January 2022
On my way back after picking up the headphones I came across this bench and if people know me well or have been seeing some of the photos I love taking pictures of a bench but in a contemporary way.
Date-22 January 2022
The river Thames host the famous Cambridge vs Oxford boat race which has happened every year (except 2020). There are many rowing clubs located along the Thames and rowing along this part of the Thame is very calming as there isn’t much boat traffic on the river.
Date-22 January 2022
Waiting at Putney Bridge Station for the Underground I wanted to capture the surrounding area of the lines of the District Line. The curvature of the rails going along the bridge and disappearing into the distance.
Date-22 January 2022
Yes ‘Hint of Colour’ is back and of course I was using it on the famous Underground logo. What I like is that it goes from red at the bottom of the logo and then it looks orange at the top. I didn’t add the blue that you find on the logo, I just wanted to focus on the redness.
Date-22 January 2022
Lastly the Underground turned up and I wanted to capture the train coming into the station. Yes you can’t really see the movement of the Underground but you can’t miss the iconic modern shape of the train.
Date-22 January 2022
The beginning of February came around and on the 1st February I went to London (yes again) with my mum. She had an appointment in the city and asked if I could go as her support (because she also injured her foot). We took the train up to the city and I never really take taxi’s in London but it is also a nice treat when it does happen. We got a taxi from London Waterloo Station to Harley Street (just behind Oxford Street).
I went to amuse myself while mum was having the appointment. I coudln’t go to far so I just stayed around the back streets of Oxford street/Regents Street/Bond Street. It was a nice winter day and for me I really enjoyed taking and also editing these photos which sometimes I enjoy taking photos but when it comes to the editing I am like not for me. This time around I enjoyed all the process from beginning to end.
I love taking pictures of any flying flags off flag poles be it from Embassy’s to buildings flying the Union Flag.

Editing this photo to be more square was a good idea because it really focuses on the taxi amongst the motorcycles.
I remember that this was the photo I decided to change my watermark on (yes you have seen it on previous photos) but I went back and changed it on all the other ones.
Date-1st February 2022
I have always wanted to try a mirror photo especially trying to reflect stuff of the mirror which worked in some aspects. I really liked how sharp the motorcycle mirror came out in this photo.

It came out better tan I expected.

We took a taxi back to Waterloo Station which was a nice treat. This gave me an opportunity to capture the city while on the move in a moving vehicle. We drove past Horse Guards Parade and captured this photo. What I love about it is how the London Eye is just popping out over the top while capturing the vast area of Horse Guards.
Date-1st February 2022

Rolling onto early March and I took another trip to London, as I said 2022 was mainly a lot of London trips as you will see more and more throughout this blog. This trip to London was going to be me trying to improve my cityscape photos as I wanted to make sure I use the right settings for while I am New York so I could get it down to a fine wire.
I started off at a diffenrt part of London. I started my journey from South Kensington Underground station and then just walked from there to see where it would take me.
Side note I walked a very long way, I think it was 26,000 steps and walked 24km
Starting the journey with a flag picture. This time it was the French embassy. You will see a few embassy flags in this photography session in London.

Date-10th March 2022
This is an entrance for South Kensington Underground station. There is a tunnel located under the street that goes on for quite a while. You have a couple of options to either exit at the beginning of the station or you can walk all the way down the tunnel and end up by the science museum.
Date-10th March 2022
I came across another beautiful Ferrari. I then did another crop to make it a square to focus on the logo and the name. I made sure when I came to edit it that I would keep the beautiful colour of the Ferrari which had this deep red.

Date-10th March 2022
I came across these beautiful yellow flowers and I used them to help with the composition of the photo. I wanted to focus on the tower in the background. I did two different pictures where one was focused on the flowers and the other was focusing on the bridge. I preferred this one and the flowers do help with the photo.

This now takes us into the exciting month of May, this is where I took a trip of a lifetime. My first ever solo trip to a different country and visiting a place i’ve dreamed about as a child. New York was calling my name and was truly one of the most memorable and most amazing experiences i’ve ever done. As I said this will feature on its own in another part (part 8).
After coming back from New York not much happened in June in the sense of photography. I think I spent a lot of June working and re-edting some of my earlier London ones with the new watermark logo at the bottom.
In July it was an exciting month as most weekends I was busy doing something, it was things that got rebooked from 2020 to now. The first weekend Dan and I went to the Royal Albert Hall to watch a live orchestra play film scores by Hans Zimmer & John Williams. I have never heard music just like that.
In the middle of July Dan & I finally went back to RIAT after an absence of 3 years. We was so excited to go back after missing it due to Covid. I now had my other lens I could use which was the 70-200mm ƒ4.0 USM ll. This would give me a better chance at taking closer photos of aircraft doing their displays in the sky. I also used my favourite 24-105mm ƒ4.0 to capture all the static aircraft.
We went visited the airshow on the Friday and Saturday and captured some truly amazing displays which were better than the years before, here is the collection of many photos.
The first part of this section is all the static aircraft and then the other part is the flying displays, one being Friday’s displays and one being Saturday’s displays.
In 2 days of displays I took just over 10,000 photos…
First day-Friday 15th July 2022
The Swiss Air Force display team parked up and ready to fly for the public.

For the static aircraft I was using my trusty 24-105mm ƒ4 lens. I was also using my new Canon 6D which I actually used in New York before this (but that is to come later on in another part). I was able to capture more in photos because of the full frame element to the camera. This was the South Korean Air Force who haven’t displayed at RIAT for a long time. It is very exciting to see a new display team i’ve not seen before.
Date-15th July 2022
While walking around the static display grounds I came across a great opportunity where I saw the tails of the Korean Air Force so wanted to capture looking down at all the tails of the aircraft.
Date-15th July 2022
An area of RIAT is dedicated to the Royal Air Force, British Army and the Royal Navy. Located as its centre piece is the beautiful A400 transport aircraft which the Royal Air Force use. All photos I took was handheld and I didn’t have a tripod. I quite like how the clouds have this wavy effect above the aircraft. I wanted to capture it so that it looks like the aircraft is being loaded for a mission.
Date-15th July 2022
Date-15th July 2022
The times we’ve gone to RIAT it has always been sunny and also vey warm (because it is an open area). The sunshine always makes good for photos especially as background light. I wanted to capture a side on picture of the A400 against the blue sky backdrop.
Date-15th July 2022
Date-15th July 2022
One of the most agile aircraft in the world, the Eurofighter Typhoon which is one of the Royal Air Force’s flag ship aircraft, it doesn’t matter if its on the ground or in the air it is a beautiful aircraft to look at.
While I was walking behind the Eurofighter I saw an opportunity to capture the big boy A400 and the agile Eurofighter looking at each other. Cargo vs fighter jet.
Date-15th July 2022
Yes ‘hint of colour’ is going to appear a lot in RIAT because there was many opportunities when it came to editing which I thought it would look better with one splash of colour. This for example is search and rescue with the beautiful Sea King helicopter. I just knew I would make this the only thing in colour because it was a bright orange colour.
Date-15th July 2022
If you have seen Top Gun Maverick this year you know he flys and works on a P-51 mustang. He actually owns one in real life (no this isn’t his) but what I saw was that it had this very bright red nose which I knew would become the centre focus point in the photo. To eliminate all the other colours except for the red on the nose.
Date-15th July 2022
The German Air Force also sent their A400 to be a static aircraft. I loved using the cinematic preset on Lightroom to bring out more of the colours such as the blue sky which always enhances the image.
Date-15th July 2022
The beautiful B-17 which is was was a workhorse during World War ll and i’ve been very lucky to see this aircraft fly (which is a rare sight). I really wanted to highlight the colours in this photo as the mixture of the yellow from the engines and the blue sky mixes extremely well and makes it pop.
Date-15th July 2022
The unique V-22 Osprey from the US Airforce. It can change from flying as normal to hovering by moving its rota-blades to a hovering ability.
Date-15th July 2022

I think when I came to editing this photo I was torn on either making this black and white or full on colour and I decided to go with colour as because I wanted to capture all the colours in this photo. I liked how I took this photo, it makes it look like it’s ready to take to skies at any given point.

The flying displays began and we started with small prop planes doing some very nice gentle aerobatics but where the real airshow was about to begin was with these iconic red aircraft. The Red Arrows are a crowd pleaser and they get everyone watching them. At this point I should say I swapped my lens to the 70-200mm ƒ4 so I could capture more closer shots.
Date-15th July 2022
I knew I wanted to highlight one of the aircraft taking off by using a ‘hint of colour’. I should also say that I always tend to edit my flying displays into long photos where I crop it down to make it more of a rectangle.
Date-15th July 2022
Black and white would also be one theme I used at RIAT. I wanted to highlight the tails of the Red Arrows In white and make them stick out as the foreground in the picture.
Date-15th July 2022
I wanted to get as close to the crowd line as possible so I could capture the aircraft landing and taking off. Compared to 2019 it was a bigger improvement especially using the 70-200mm ƒ4 lens to get that up and close shot of the aircraft.
Date-15th July 2022

The Red Arrows tend to do a fly past with some sort of aircraft and this time on the Friday it was the newest addition to the fleet for surveillance which was Poseidon. In 2019 we had the Red Arrows flying with the beautiful Boeing 747 and this time it was the Poseidon. I love when the Red Arrows light up in red, white and blue. This time the Red Arrows were only flying 7 aircraft instead of 9.
Date-15th July 2022
Capturing it in all its glory from the side as they fly past the crowd. I didn’t want to make the sky too dark blue but wanted to try and bring out the variety of colours from the red and the blues.
Date-15th July 2022
Once the Poseidon departed the Red Arrows, they started their own display which again is always a crowd pleaser. They start by flying off into the distance and then flying over the crowd. The cinematic preset came in handy when editing these photos. It made the sky this dark blue colour and wanted to make the Red Arrows pop with colour.
Date-15th July 2022
I love making the photos these panoramic style because it really focuses on the aircraft and looks more film like. They were doing a barrel roll and I set my camera to high shutter speed and burst mode so I could capture it through the barrel roll. This is why I took over 10,000+ photos over the two days as it was on burst mode.
Date-15th July 2022
The Vortex is a movement they tend to do each year while displaying. It is always one of my favourites movements they do. Capturing the two aircrafts going around the outside while the middle five aircraft fly in a straight line flying the red, white and blue.
Date-15th July 2022
Date-15th July 2022
The beautiful curves that the Red Arrows fly in. To me capturing this was really cool because I think back to World War ll days with the Spitfires flying in over Dover during the Battle of Britain.
Date-15th July 2022
Date-15th July 2022
Two of the Red Arrows then split off and display some very high intense movements. I loved capturing this Red Arrow upside-down and I thought I would make this a ‘hint of colour' photo.
Date-15th July 2022
Flying in formation to finish the display off and ready to perform the move to exit the formation and ready to land.
Date-15th July 2022
I always like highlighting Red One (main leader) he is the one who calls all the commands, he starts by falling off formation so that they can fly back around and land back on the runway. I knew when i saw this in the edit i just had to make this a ‘hint of colour’ photo.
Date-15th July 2022
The beautiful Supermarine Spitfire in the blue colour scheme did a solo performance. This wasn’t part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, this was one of the heritage spitfires. I took a few of this display but none really caught my eye to put into this part.

I have been very lucky to see this aircraft before flying at Farnborough and i get to see it again flying at RIAT. This aircraft drops water over fires such as forest fires and things like that. On the side was two aircraft from the Blades Air Display team.

Helicopters have always been an interesting one for me to capture because sometimes you can capture it like its floating in the air such as like this one or you can capture with the rota blades spinning which you will see in later photos. I love the pattern on the rota blades of this helicopter, i knew that i wanted to highlight these colours and make them brighter.
Date-15th July 2022
Probably one of the best displays i think i have ever seen. The Austrian Air Force demonstrated what a QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) looks like when an unidentified aircraft flys into a fly zone when they aren’t suppose to. Two Eurofighter Typhoons blast there after burners on and take off extremely quickly. This photo shows the two typhoons intercepting the AC-130 Hercules.
Date-15th July 2022

The two Eurofighter Typhoons then did a small display on there own showing what they can do. Displaying high intense movements that pull very high G-Force.

This aircraft appeared in 2019 and i think 2018 as well. The Spartan is a very versatile aircraft that is capable of doing some amazing movements. This was me capturing the aircraft just about to head into a barrel roll which is a sight to see.

The Irish Air Force had there own display team as well which was a first ever at RIAT. There was four turbo-prop aircrafts that put on quite a beautiful display. I captured the aircraft in a box formation flying along the crowd line while three of the aircraft having smoke on.
Date-15th July 2022
The BAE Hawk Mk51 from the Finnish Air Force was a beautiful aircraft to watch especially while taking off, i wanted to capture it up close as possible while taking off. The Hawk turns on smoke as it takes off which made it good to capture. I wanted to add more texture to the smoke when editing it so it was clearer.
Date-15th July 2022
The beautiful painting scheme for this aircraft was really cool, especially with the Finnish flag on the side of the aircraft.
Date-15th July 2022
I did actually try more portrait angles so i could use them for phone wallpaper backgrounds, quite a lot of them were when the aircraft taking off or landing.

Two helicopters then put on quite a show and demonstrated how they move in combat zone scenarios.
Date-15th July 2022
The F-18 which Maverick flies in Top Gun Maverick, this was sent from the Swiss Airforce. I captured this photo while the F-18 was heading down to the end of the runway for its display. BAE Systems always sponsor RIAT and have this massive banner in the background so i used it as an opportunity to capture aircraft rolling on by the hanger.

They looked a lot closer in person during this manoeuvre. The top helicopter came rushing down the crowd line and then got close to the helicopter below in an awesome movement.

One of my favourite photos from the two days at the air show. I really wanted to improve on capturing aircraft taking off at speed and this is an example of the shot i was looking for. Capturing the wash of the jets and the details of the aircraft.
Date-15th July 2022
The F-18 put on quite a display for the crowd. When the F-18 flew down the crowd line i caught this photo where the aircraft was above one of the speakers (where the commentary would come through). It was like dead on centre with the speaker.
Date-15th July 2022
Two of the BBMF did a small display, but now and your thinking where is the Lancaster Bomber?? it wasn’t displaying on the Friday schedule but was on the Saturday as Saturday is when there is bigger crowds.

The Black Jack Eurofighter Typhoon from the RAF Typhoon Display team. Probably the best looking scheme i have ever seen on an aircraft. It can take off very quickly when it stands on its breaks and then releases.
Date-15th July 2022
This is another one of my favourites from the two days. You can see the top side of the paint scheme of the Eurofighter. I love the black and red as it mixes well together.
Date-15th July 2022
I love afterburners photos because you can capture the full blast of the jets and you can’t deny it does look really good from the back??
Date-15th July 2022

Underneath the aircraft you will find more of the paint scheme which is the Union Flag which looks absolutely incredible. They really did an amazing job with the scheme on the aircraft.

The South Korean Air force went into full swing and they did some moves that the Red Arrows didn’t do. When i captured this photo and when it came to editing i knew full well that i was going to make this a ‘hint of colour’ photo. The colour scheme of underneath the aircraft was very vibrant with the yellow.

This here is a very aircraft to see and witness. It is a converted Boeing 747 that is known as the ‘Doomsday plane’ basically its designed as a command post in an event of nuclear war ever happening. I got right to the front of the crowd line as most people started to go home, this gave me the opportunity to capture this beautiful aircraft landing at RIAT.

Another F-18 take off shot. This wasn’t from the Swiss Airforce bit from i think the Spanish?? i captured the movement of the aircraft as it was taking off which caused a nice blurriness back ground to the photo.

Due to the warmness in the air during the displays it causes this cloud effect over the aircraft when its about to pull a steep nose up movement. Setting a high shutter speed so i could capture the cloud coming off the aircraft and also the jets burning as wel.

Aka the Beluga, this is one of Airbus’s transport aircraft which carry’s all sorts of aircraft parts such as wings, fuselage of an airbus etc… This aircraft has never ever displayed at an airshow in the United Kingdom. The famous Italian Frecce Tricolori displaying there countries flag colours of red, white and green. I think i said this back in 2019 blog that the Tricolori is probably the next best air display team after the Red Arrows. I captured this when they lit up there coloured smoke.
Date-16th July 2022
Date-16th July 2022
A formation they do is this one here (which i completely forgot the name of) but i love this formation manoeuvre that they do. i decided to make the sky a lighter blue and wanted to bring out the green and reds.
Date-16th July 2022
One of my favourite wallpaper background photos i’ve taken, the reason for this is that i loved making this black and white, while adding a lot of contrast and texture to the photo to make the smoke pop out.
Date-16th July 2022
Most air display teams do this manoeuvre where they all spilt apart from each other. If i was using my Canon 80D i don’t think i would have captured it this way but having the full frame camera and being able to capture more in the photo made this photo come to life.

As of writing this (January 1st 2023), the last surviving dambuster, Johnny Johnson sadly passed away in December of 2022. His legacy and other pilots will be remembered for what they did during World War ll.

RIAT was an amazing, to come back after three years and brining my better camera equipment made this time at the airshow one of the absolute best! I know that in next year in 2023 it will be even better because I will have a new lens which will be able to capture up close of the aircraft and get those more detail photos.
Sticking with the month of July it was going to be a beautiful occasion and for me the moment of the year. My god-sister was getting married on the 23rd July. The bride and groom asked if I was able to bring my camera to capture the day from a different perspective… These are the results of the day, I am very proud of how these came out. I used a couple of lenses over the course of the day…

The wedding will be a day i won’t forget for two reasons, 1) seeing my god sister getting married was very beautiful and 2) such a different area to dip my photography into. It will go down as one of my favourite photography days i’ve ever had.
Now we take a step into August where this will be the end of this part, i realised how big 2022 was for my photography, so i had to split into two smaller parts. In August i went back to London for the day. This was the first time going back since coming back from New York in May. i went for an exciting long walk around the city and this was the first rime in the city with my upgraded camera (Canon 6D Mark ll). I had no plan of where i would go but i would just let the mood take me somewhere. I was using my trusty 24-105mm ƒ4 lens while i was around the city.

It’s three for three railing photos. This time it is with the beautiful Tower of London, what i like about this photo is that you could make a story with the bars. Looks like your sitting in a prison cell waiting for your sentence at the Tower of London.

So cast your mind back to March time and i took a very similar photo where they were constructing this beautiful garden piece around the moat of the tower. Now rolling on a few months later, they had finished the construction and it looked very beautiful.

Boris bike appreciation photo as normal, i made my way into the City of London. I wanted to make the redness of the bikes a bit more darker than they normally are, i added more texture and contrast to the photo.

Located near the the ‘Cheese Greater’ building, this interesting design always fascinates me. I wanted to make this photo darker, the clouds were building in which helped with the moodiness of the shot.

The Gurking used to be one of the tallest buildings in the city but as the demand for more skyscrapers increased, the Gurking started looking smaller compared to the other buildings. This was taken around 12:00pm (lunch time) and it was busy with transport and people roaming the city.

This has probably been the best photo i have taken of St Pauls in this location. I wanted to make sure i darkened the edges and ground and mainly focused on the cathedral and highlighted it more.
Date-22nd August 2022
I have seen many photographers try and succeed in this photo. I still learning on reflections and how to mirror the reflection from the main subject to the glass. I think i succeeded it in my own way and was able to have a reflection of St Pauls on the glass.

While i was having some lunch by St Pauls i came across some beautiful flowers, i wanted to focus on the flowers and have the bokeh effect in the back so that the flowers would be the centre subject of the photo.

I love the iconic telephone box around London and this one is located in the perfect spot. In the area of St Pauls i found this one and made this as the focus point for the photo, without hesitation i knew that i would make this ‘hint of colour’ photo.

This was a part of London which i have never really visited before. i decided to make my way to north of the city and was heading towards a big UK train station. On my way i came across an Underground station Chancery Lane (central line) and it’s been a while since i did a ‘hint of colour’ photo while in London but i wanted to make the logo the one in colour and everything else in black and white.

Did you miss the Hogwarts Express and you need to take a flying car?? The beautiful Kings Cross St Pancras train station. This is where the famous Eurostar train service departs from and heads to the centre of Pairs and other destinations. I love the architecture of this building because it looks very grand and you know your going on a grand adventure.

I brought back the ‘hint of colour’ while standing in the middle of Regents street. Next time i go to London during the day time i have the equipment which will allow me to do long exposure doing the day and i would love to see what the outcome of the photo would be.

I love myself a fast supercar and this beautiful Lamborghini in a cool light green colour, i knew i wanted to have this as the only subject in colour, with the hint of yellow on the road.

Backpackers and travellers heading down in the busy Underground station of Piccadilly Circus. I made this photo more darker this time around as i wanted to make it look more cinematic while keeping the colours alive such as the red and blues.

Very different to a yellow taxi you would find in New York but sometimes you find taxi’s in London that aren’t black, like this one here. I knew when i captured it that i was going to only focus on the taxi’s colour.

Every-time i walk past Leicester Square Underground station i want to try and recreate one of my favourite photos of all time, i got close but this time it was different. This time i wanted to make the colours pop more.

I got up close to the Cenotaph and captured the standards on the side with one being the Royal Air Force standard. I wanted to make most of the photo darker but i really wanted to keep all the colours of the flags highlighted and pop with colour.
Date-22nd August 2022
I was walking down the centre of Whitehall and turned around and wanted to capture a landscape photo of the Cenotaph. I stood nearly in the middle and looked down to capture it. This memorial means a lot to me and November 11th every year hits me as i always reemeber my family members who fought in the war and conflicts.

Just peeping out of the side of the building we find ourselves at the restore Big Ben and looking all golden. It was so good to see the clocktower out of the scaffolding after 5 years of restoration.

The moody clouds mixed with the golden colours of Big Ben worked well in this photo. I wanted to add more contrast and texture to this photo do i could make Big Ben pop out more in the photo.

Standing to one of the entrances for Westminster Underground station while having Big Ben in the background. I wanted to capture this in landscape so i was able to get the entrance for the underground and also Big Ben together. I then wanted to highlight Big Ben more and make the structure a bit lighter while keeping the other parts mid tones.
Date-22nd August 2022
I found a new angle where i captured the clock faces through the Underground signage. I wanted to make good composition on the photo by using the structure as a good foreground subject while making Big Ben the focus point.

This photo took me ages to get right, this was not my first attempt, i remember squatting down and trying to get the whole London Eye through the hole in the bridge, it wasn’t easy but the result came out better than i expected.

This was me trying to do more new angles and this for example is another one of lower angles. I got down close to the road and wanted to capture the full extent of Big Ben and waited for the moment where a red bus was driving by.
Date-22nd August 2022
This was another one of my favourites from the day. I wanted to see what a landscape photo would look like and being able to capture the full Palace of Westminster and also a red bus in the photo. It is all about waiting and timing which i started to do more of which was waiting for that opportune moment to get the right photo.

If i made a list of photos that i take every time i go to London this would be on that list which is Westminster Bridge leading up to the Palace of Westminster. Yes i do agree that you can’t see it all and if i moved further down i could have been able to capture all of it. The small rib that is in the photo adds to it and its not just a standard bridge photo.

To finish the day i love taking a upwards shot of the London Eye. We started with a sunny London Eye and now we have a cloudy background for the final photo. I love the intricate detail on the structure of this beautiful wheel.
